I play the Chinese Dulcimer , an instrument that first arrived in China centuries ago and gradually developed into the form played today. I like the idea that something can keep its basic identity while changing with the place and people around it.
I also dance Argentine tango, which involves a very different kind of adaptation: the music gives you a structure, but every movement depends on your partner, the space, and the moment.
One changes slowly over centuries; the other changes from second to second. In different ways, both have shaped how I think about adaptation, interpretation, and change.
I live with two British Shorthairs, and also spend time helping with stray cat and dog rescue.
What I enjoy most is the process of getting to know an animal on its own terms: noticing small changes in behavior, learning when to approach and when to give space, and gradually earning trust.
